Ali weds Fatima (Wedding Invitation)

“And among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your hearts. Verily in that are signs for those who reflect.” (Qur’an 30:21)
I’m pleased to invite you all to my Wedding that is taking place in Mahuva, Gujarat on the 9th of November 2008. It’s the same place Arif got married! Her name is Ismat Fatima (aka Karishma). She’s also happens to be the cousin of Arif’s wife. I guess Arif and me were destined not just to share a blog, but also to share in-laws. :-)
If you’re wondering where Mahuva is, you can check it out here on Google Maps. It’s a small town in Gujarat.
I’d be really pleased if you could make it. It’s been eons since I’ve met many of you, it would be a wonderful occasion to get together as well. Promise me with your attendance and I’ll promise you with some delicious Gujrati Biryani. :-)
Nikha and dinner at 8.00 pm on 9th November, 2008 (Sunday),
Venue: Burhani Hall, near Gandhi Baug, Burhani Society, Mahuva.
I request for your prayers, wishes and also to seeing many of you there. If you have any advice for me, please share them in your comments below.

Wedding is one of the most special days in one’s life. Right from the wedding invitations to the wedding verses everything is wrapped delicately in anticipation and joy. Each and everything is selected delicately and with utmost care.
Marriage is an Athenic weaving together of families, of two souls with their individual fates and destinies, of time and eternity–everyday life married to the timeless mysteries of the soul.

Dear Ali and Fatima
Salam alaykum and congratulations! Unfortunately we are unable to attend this Special Day in your lives, but here is some humble advice for both of you insha Allah…
Allah is not only the Source of all love. He also chooses to use Love to connect to His creation and they to Him. Thus there is a Conduit of Love that connects all of us to Him. What prevents creatures from experiencing divine love and feeling this connectedness to Allah through the Conduit of Love is selfishness. Selfishness comes from ego (which gives the illusion of loneliness, separation and independence from Allah). The secret to drinking from Allah’s love is therefore selflessness. And there is no better threshold at which one can measure one’s selflessness and seek more of it than marriage. The more you give of yourself to each other selflessly instead of ‘using’ each other for selfish reasons, the more you will draw from the Conduit of Love. Therefore always strive to ‘give’ and not ‘seek’ happiness, regardless of whether the other reciprocates. And therein lies the secret to all happiness, peace, bliss and tranquility.
Enjoy your journeying together in this transitory plane of existence! I wish you peace and happiness together, here and hereafter. And I pray for you a pious progeny that will be of service to Him and the Imam of the Age (a.t.f.s). Amen.
Bid-du’a wal mahabba
Dear Ali
As salam alaikum
May Allah bless you and Fatima to build a strong and loving relationship, and grant you and your family success in both worlds, ameen!
hmmm… were you specifically looking out for “Fatima” or was it just happenstance (During my time – my mother was incidentally looking at the girls names specifically – and one of my wife’s names is also Fatima :-) !!!) ? Either ways – it is so pleasant – “Ali weds Fatima” :-)
and don’t forget the ‘Honeymoon’ as you embark on this blessing and mercy of Allah!
love
Ali Shariff
Wow!!!
What a piece of advice from non other than Sh. Khalil Jaffer. I feel like getting married all over again :).
How well said and put together by Brother Khalil.
By the way I was fortunate to have besides me Liaquat Nasser when I needed such inspirational words and advice.
If I was you – I would send him a ticket and get him to Gujarat to be besides you:) Oh! did I tell you he only travels with me :):):)
Salaams Ali and Arif,
Ma sha Allah! May your married life be blessed. May you and your wife go forward towards Allah in goodness, truth and love.
