Calling all Techies: BarCamp coming to Bangalore

It’s great to hear BarCamp is comin to Bangalore and it’s about time! BarCamp is an “unconference” – organized by attendees, for attendees. It’s an open, welcoming event for geeks to hang out with wifi and smash their brains together. It’s about love and geekery and having a focal point for great ideas.

BarCampBangalore will be held at Yahoo! Bangalore, on Sat 22 April ’06. If you’re interested, join the Mailing List. Looking forward to the discussions on Web2.0 and Rich Internet Apps.
See you there!

MyStickies.com – Post-it! on your site

I always wanted something like this! MyStickies.com is a free service (no-ads too!) that allows you to stick digital post-it type notes on the websites you visit. The next time you visit only you will be able to view this notes. There’s a nice extension for firefox users!

Now I know exactly how many miles to go before I sleep.

Isnt’ that clever? Instead just having fuel gauage that shows approximately how much fuel does the car have left, the smart engineers at Ford have gone even one step further for their Ford Fiesta. They now also have a digital display that shows the approximate number of Km’s that you can travel with the fuel left in the tank.

Definately, makes me kick myself and say, “Now, why didn’t I think of that?”

Keep miling :-)
Arif

Ps. No, that’s not my new car.

Remember, use simple words…

Below is a creative from, Amnesty International’s letter-writing program — “in which regular citizens are encouraged to write letters to presidents, dictators and prime ministers of countries whose actions are in question, asking for change and letting them know they are being watched,” explains Joel Clement, regional head of art at Saatchi & Saatchi Southeast Asia.
Good one Amnesty International!

It’s Sssssmokin’!

Spotted this one at the Pizza Hut on Brigade Road. I’ve seen some pretty good no-smoking signs in the past, but this one really takes the cake…(or should I say Pizza :-) )!

Ps. Thanks to everybody who replied or posted a comment to the earlier blog post. It’s really helping us streamline our backend systems. Friends,clients,suppliers,ad-agencies,bankers alike if you have received the earlier message (http://www.vakil.org/?p=35) by mail and have not confirmed, please do so, it’ll really give us a clear idea which mails have gone through and which haven’t. Needless to say, anyone who wishes to be removed from the mailing list, well …….tough!
After all the trouble we went through to put this up…no one is getting off the hook that easily now…no way…you’re stuck in this mailling list for a very long time…Bwhaahahahah!

(umm just kidding, please do let us know and it’ll be done in a jiffy….promise! ;-))

Keep smiling :-)
Arif
